  • Today, Oracle announced that Oracle?WebLogic Servr, a component of Oracle Fusion Middleware, together with Oracle Database 11g Release 2 and Oracle Enterprise Linux, running on a Cisco Unified Computing System C250 M2 Extended Memory Rack-Mount Server with two, six-core Intel?Xeon?X5680 3.33 GHz processors achieved 5,185.45 SPECjAppServer2004 JOPS@Standard (jAppServer Operations Per Second), representing a best-in-class, single-node result for this platform and the best performance per processor of any result ever published(1).
  • This achievement adds to Oracle WebLogic Server's current SPECjAppServer2004 benchmark records including world record results in multi-node(2); dual-node(3); and single-node(4) categories; the highest performance ever achieved running a clustered database(5) and the highest performance per core(6) of any result ever published.

Benchmark Details

  • The Java application servers were running on a Cisco Unified Computing System C250 M2 Extended Memory Rack-Mount Server with two, six-core Intel Xeon X5680 3.33 GHz processors. Oracle Database 11g Release 2 was running on an identical hardware configuration. Both application servers and database servers were running Oracle Enterprise Linux.
  • For more than eight years, Oracle has submitted record-setting application server benchmarks on a broad range of hardware and software platforms. Oracle is the performance and price/performance leader in multiple SPECjAppServer 2001(7) and SPECjAppServer2002(8) benchmark categories and also holds the world records for best performance and price/performance in the Ecperf(9) benchmark of J2EE application servers reported in July 2002.
  • SPECjAppServer2004 is a multi-tier benchmark for measuring the performance of a representative J2EE application and each of the components that make up the application environment, including hardware, application server software, JVM software, database software, JDBC drivers and the system network.
